Sadly, because our tour was the day before Christmas, some of the major attractions on the tour were closed for Christmas. However, Jose made sure we were compensated because of this! “Great relaxing day seeing 3 different sights outside of Porto. Saw the fish market at Costa Nova, but my favorite was the bakeries nearby where I learned of the areas Ovos Moles & other sweet delights. Was able to try & purchase them. Aveiro was lovely. We passed on the boat ride, but most participants led in it. It reminded us of the Venice canals which we’ve done. The church built into the rock in Gaia was remarkable as well. Our English tour guide Alexander spoke great English & knew his stuff! The only thing that was problematic were the audio boxes which were mostly fuzzy & unintelligible to even…”

“It was a very long day and for the first part of the tour (Fatima) the weather did not really help as it was pouring all day. I enjoyed Coimbra because of the weather and I just wished we had more time there to visit the well known library and roam around the streets. Our driver/guide (Maria)was very personable and the tour was a small group as well.”

“Excellent guide! Sadly the wine tasting was very short and the winemaker seemed almost to be in a rush. No explanations about the wine yard and the different types of port wine. This can definitely be improved or the destination changed. Otherwise a beautiful trip into the Douro valley.”
