“The Douro River is absolutely beautiful and we had great weather which made it that much better. The outside area of the boat can't accommodate the number of people on the boat to allow good views for everyone. After lunch we were able to get a better spot to allow us better viewing and picture taking. Breakfast was basic bread and coffee. The lunch was really good and plentiful. We went through two locks which was very impressive, especially the second one which is the highest on the river, I believe. They serve a small glass of port wine midway through the trip - I was expecting more than that-…”

“While the trip itself was lovely, we were somewhat disappointed with the lack of info/direction/communication with our guide. We arrived as directed 15 minutes before departure, checked in and were told to leave and come back at 8. There really wasn’t any attempt to give any information about the trip - not even sure the guide introduced herself. This was consistent throughout the trip. No communication - not about what we were doing or seeing - no attempt to connect with the group. Luckily, the boat was lovely and the food was delicious otherwise I wouldn’t recommend.”

“I was given the wrong details for boarding I was emailed and informed that the embarkation point was Cais de Gaia at 8.00am and the operator was to be Barcadouro When we arrived at the pier we were told Barcadouro were not sailing that day and probably we should go to Cais de Ribeira and ask Rota de Doura if they were our operators We then had to take a twenty minute walk to the opposite side of the river! “Well organized but for 4 hours the music was on repeat with the same singer & songs over & over. Asked to change but it took a few times asking & they finally did. That’s when people woke up & it became lively. On over hot days an overhead cover for the heat.”

“The tour was perfect! Pedro met us and immediately started telling us about everything we passed. It is amazing to pass through the tunnel and enter an entirely different looking Portugal! It had snowed prior to us getting there which made it even more beautiful! The two locally owned wineries were outstanding! They were so attentive and informational! The River cruise was a scenic and relaxing way to end our tour. Definitely recommend this tour!”

“Brilliant experience from beginning to end. Crew couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. Lots of fun. Started off with breakfast if orange juice, croissant, bap butter and jam and coffee. Followed by a glass of white port as approached the dam. Then a lovely 3 course meal. A lovely day, the tour was exceptional value. On arrival at Regua we were late due to problem with conditions before final dam so had to get straight onto bus for journey back to Porto (about 1 1/2 hrs”

“We actually liked the tour and the guide but we were given conflicting pick up information that found up costing us 93+ Euros to get to the Régua train station when we could have been picked up (like the other members of the group) in Porto civic center area for free. Is there some thing you can do to offset these charges or give credit for the future? I can supply the Uber receipt.”

“Overall the kayaking experience was just great. They allowed us to experience it at our own pace as well as gave us the freedom to choose where and when we wanted to stop along the Douro River. Be prepared that the kayaking could be challenging at times but if you want time experience the Douro River from another perspective and like active leisure activities, it is well worth the effort and 3 hours. We would highly recommend it. The staff were great as well (supportive and easy going).”
