“This was the worst experience I’ve ever booked. The tour operator did not show up and did not message us any details about failure to show up. There was no excuse. He says he came and we were not there, but we waited 45 minutes after the intended tour start and messaged him throughout the day with no response. It was supposed to be hotel pickup from a place with less than 50 rooms. None of the staff saw him at all.”

“Sara, our guide was a delight. She pointed out some very helpful locations and things to which helped to informed our self directed activities the following day. The Fado show was everything we hoped. Portuguese guitar is beautiful and the singers were truly engaged yo the point that we felt the emotion without understanding the lyrics. The food was typical Portuguese and delicious.”

“We had a great evening learning about fado from our guide, Emilia. We had expected a small group so were surprised to find it was just the two of us (plus Emilia). We started with a short walking tour around the Ribeira district. We then went to the venue where we had one of the nicest meals of our trip. Three courses with very generous portions plus beer or wine. The fado performances were excellent. Emilia explained the backstories and lyrics, which added to our understanding. However, if not looking for the extra background and detail, you could easily book a fado show and dinner directly with a fado house…”
